Caernarfon Castle is go for 2019

It’s been quite a long gestation period due to the complexity of dealing with so many local authorities but thanks to the encouragement and support of Caernarfon and Gwynedd Councils it looks like we can finally push ahead with our first Welsh Event – the Castle to Castle Cycle Race which will be launched from the iconic Caenarfon Castle. A big thank you to their events team for all their encouragement.

This event, the first of many we hope to run under the Extreme Sports Wales banner, has been provisionally scheduled for the weekend of September 14/15 2019. So why not help us establish the next big sports event in Wales. The 2019 event will be run as a sportive with the full blown road race added for 2020. We can trial the route with your help and input before we go big in 2020.

All cyclists of all levels are welcome to join us on the event which we have split into two stages. The first running from Caernarfon Castle to Aberystwyth on the 14th and the other from Aberystwyth to Pembroke Castle on the 15th. Each stage will be around 85 miles of beautiful and challenging coastline and countryside. You are welcome to sign up to do one or if you really want a challenge both days (at a discounted entry fee) as the racers will in 2019.

If there is a charity you would like to support we will provide a charity form for you to use to raise money for the charity of your choice. So whether you want to attack the course like a pro or enjoy a more leisurely ride, whether as a cycle club or solo we very much look forward to having you support the next big thing in Welsh sport.
